For the month of July I’ve taken a break from buying new books - none at all! It’s been lovely to appreciate the books I’d already invested in without adding any stress to my reading life and instead watching up bedside book tower whittle down.
Taking buying pauses are something I love to do routinely especially in such a time of chronic overconsumption. I love the opportunity these pauses give me to step back into intentionality and to take ownership back of my energy.
My top reading experience of June:
The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
A fun fact about my - my childhood home was named Toad Hall (of course named by my librarian mother after we bought it) so this book is very dear to my heart. It was interesting to come back to it as an adult and reflect on how eerie and ominous it actually is in part.
Overall it’s a cosy book perfect for reading in deep Winter and one I absolutely suggest you re-visit!
